New Book Launch in March or April at Barnes and Noble Booksellers

Greetings Everyone,

The launch and first book signing of my new book, "The Cultural Rights Movement: Fulfilling the Promise of Civil Rights for African Americans," will happen at the Barnes & Noble Booksellers in Greenville, North Carolina.

The date is not official yet, but I anticipate it will occur in March or April at an event featuring several authors including myself. Interestingly, my last appearance at the Barnes & Noble Booksellers occurred with my last book -- Black America, Body Beautiful.

Interestingly, the major topics associated with my new book are constantly in the national news today. If you would like to follow my commentary regarding these very political and cultural issues as they relate to all communities particularly African Americans, you can go to my twitter site at: www.twitter.com/culturalrights . Check it out, let me know what you think and feel free to share your comments or even join the network.

Update of Book Release - Moved to February 2010

Hey Everyone,

I just learned today that my new book, "The Cultural Rights Movement" will be released in 2010 instead of November 2009. There are a lot of factors that the publisher examines when they release a book and I'm sure they came to the conclusion that this particular probably works better with a release date a few months later and in 2010.

Quite frankly, I am pleased with the release date of February 2010. It gives me a couple of more months to promote it and to find more ways to increase its interest in all type of outlets. In addition, the month of February is a better month because it is Black History Month and the themes of the book is based in African American history and civil rights.

Finally, my book is somewhat of a controversial book because it challenges the establishment and the Obama administration's initiatives so I do anticipate that many of the traditional audiences will try to ignore the major themes of my book. In any case, I am even more committed to follow this book before and after its publication with the new movement -- THE CULTURAL RIGHTS MOVEMENT!! THE TIME IS NOW AND 2010 WILL BE THE LAUNCH!!

Podcasts - Talking About My New Book - The Cultural Rights Movement

Hey Everyone,

I am so excited about my upcoming book entitled, "The Cultural Rights Movement: Fulfilling the Promise of Civil Rights for African Americans" that I could not wait any longer in sharing the key issues of the book with you now. That's the reason why I recorded these two podcasts. The first podcast is a short 5 minute version and the other is a 70 minute podcast. In both podcasts, I give you my perspective as to why our country needs a new cultural rights movement now! We can no longer wait because I feel that our country is losing focus on individual, group cultural rights!

Check out my podcasts:

It is a departure from my previous books because it is more culturally political and about our human rights as individuals. Currently, this summer, there are a number of hot topic issues in the national news from national health care to criminal justice to education reform and to economic reform. In all of the new reform and billions of dollars being spent to stabilize our country, the cultural rights of individuals are being ignored and neglected. It is time now to recognize our cultural rights and I believe a new Cultural Rights Movement can accomplish it.

Let me know what you think about my podcasts (short and extended version), by emailing me at ebailey8@aol.com .

It's time for a New Cultural Rights Movement!!

The Beginning of Our Cultural Rights Movement!

Greetings Everyone,

Today is the start of a brand new beginning. After a year and half of writing my next book and 50 years of living, I have decided that it's time to do my part to change the world in a completely different way. I can no longer sit by in our America and our world and not participate in the dialogue and national policies that affect all of us in so many different ways.

During the past several years and now particularly during 2009, I have felt that many of our cultural rights have been taken away. What do I mean by cultural rights? Well, I refer to cultural rights as everything that makes you -- you! In other words, your values, beliefs, traditions, history, language, skin color, hair, clothing, physical type, gender and age are all distinctive cultural attributes that contributes to your uniqueness. I feel that all of us should be proud of our uniqueness and be proud to co-exist expressing our uniqueness.

Unfortunately that is not the case today. That's one of the main reasons why I wrote my latest book entitled:

Here is my publisher's description of my new book:

"With an African American in the White House, there is no better time for assessing the progress the United States has made in protecting the rights of all its citizens. The Cultural Rights Movement: Fulfilling the Promise of Civil Rights for African Americans offers such an assessment, with an indepth look at the Obama administration's proposed initiatives as they relate to the African American community and a survey of civil rights issues that need to be reexamined in light of Obama's election. The Cultural Rights Movement is a well-researched, powerfully written analysis of why a substantial number of blacks have yet to get their piece of the American dream. Coverage includes discriminatory lending practices; unfair Congressional redistricting, disparities in physician care and health outcomes; the low number of black students, faculty members and coaches in mainstream universities; the phenomenal high rate of blacks being arrested; convicted and incarcerated; the continual growth of black underemployment and poverty; and the near-total neglect of the reparations issue."

After you read my new book, I know you will feel the same as I do. It's time to stand up and defend our CULTURAL RIGHTS!! The major objectives of our Cultural Rights Movement are:

  • To embrace, value and respect everyone's cultural traditions, values and history;

  • To embrace, value and respect African American culture and how it is integrated into the total fabric of American culture; and

  • To start a regional, national and global movement among all cultures of the world that want to assert our rights as human beings and to change government policies the does not include our cultural rights.

If you feel the same as I do, then this is the place for you. Join our efforts to assert your cultural rights as a human being. If you have a special cause, program, initiative that you want others around the world to know about, then join our Cultural Rights Movement.

This is a new beginning and I'm ready to TALK THE TALK AND WALK THE WALK!!!
